Arçelik Allergen Smart Plus

UX/UI for Mobile

Arçelik Allergen Smart Plus is an air conditioner that monitors indoor air quality and automatically supports air purification through an allergen filter and ionizer. The connected HomeWhiz experience allows users to monitor air quality, control the room environment, and access additional insights remotely.

One of the key challenges was making complex environmental data easy to understand at a glance. Air quality was represented through a five-level colour indicator, providing users with an immediate overview while allowing them to access more detailed information through the dedicated Air Quality page.

The experience also extends to energy monitoring. When connected to a solar panel system, users can see where their energy comes from and track their monthly and annual consumption. The Energy Consumption page translates this data into a clear visual structure, helping users understand both their energy sources and usage over time.

The entire experience was designed within the HomeWhiz Design System, ensuring that the new features remained consistent with the existing ecosystem while introducing the patterns needed to support the new functionality.

Understanding the Product & User Needs

I began by examining the relationship between the physical product and its connected HomeWhiz experience to understand how users interact across both touchpoints. The focus was on translating new capabilities—such as air quality monitoring, allergen control, and energy consumption—into clear and intuitive interactions within the existing experience.

Information Architecture & User Flows

I defined how the new features should be integrated into the existing HomeWhiz experience and mapped the key user flows. This helped establish a clear information hierarchy and structure for the Air Quality and Energy Consumption sections, ensuring that users could easily access and understand the new features.

Interaction Design & Prototyping

I designed the key interactions to make complex information easier to understand and navigate. Air quality levels were represented through a five-colour indicator, providing an immediate overview while allowing users to access more detailed information when needed. Energy data was structured to clearly communicate energy sources and consumption over time.

I then created interactive prototypes to test and refine the user flows, information hierarchy, and key interactions before moving towards the final design.

Design System Integration

The entire experience was designed within the existing HomeWhiz Design System. I reused established components and interaction patterns wherever possible, while introducing new components where the new features required them. This approach maintained visual and interaction consistency across the experience while allowing the new functionality to integrate seamlessly with the existing product.
