End-to-End Product Design

In the global world, main energy sources are decreasing year by year, and the world has been faced with a climate crisis. As a company that values sustainability, we always aim to contribute new solutions to the world. Kicking off this idea, we have created innovative home energy solutions. The Heat Pump, part of Grundig Home Energy Solutions, combined with an all-in-one inverter offers a compact system that converts, stores, and uses the sun's energy. Access to the home energy solutions’ features, we have developed an interactive device screen and a mobile app. We offer control of the programs and features on the physical device interface and remotely through the HomeWhiz app and separately.

Unified HomeWhiz Ecosystem

HomeWhiz Application and the physical product design touchable screen interface were designed in tandem with each other. Using a holistic approach, the users' behavior and insights were evaluated. As a result of the data, simple, elegant, user-friendly interface designs have been created. The users can access and change whole programs and functions on a touchable screen easily.

UX Workshop

I collaborated with the product team and engineers to explore how people interact with a heat pump across both physical and digital touchpoints. Through collaborative workshops, we mapped user needs, pain points, and key interaction scenarios to define a seamless experience across the physical device interface and mobile app.

The insights from these sessions shaped the interaction model and helped us establish a consistent experience across device and app from controlling the heat pump directly to monitoring and managing it remotely.

Design Language

My primary goal was to create a sustainable, user-friendly product with a minimal design language accessible to all ages. Informed by in-depth user research and competitor analysis, I developed a control system far from complexity, featuring an intuitive, effortless degree cycle. While honoring Grundig’s corporate identity, the product establishes its own distinct style, highlighted by an eco-friendly standby mode on the digital display.

Tailored Product UX/UI Design

Designed in tandem with the HomeWhiz app, the physical interface translates user insights into a lean, elegant experience. Icons directly reflect specific modes and functions, while an effortless degree cycle ensures intuitive control. Through full bidirectional communication, users can seamless access, adjust, and customize all functions either on the touch display or remotely via the app.

Features

The controller and the mobile app supply many features to help and comfort the users' daily lives. Thanks to lean design, they reduce complexity. On the main screen, users can watch the temperature, working mood, and other functions, in addition, they set up, and change them very quickly. Also, the users switch quickly between ambient and hot water (DHW). The touch screen is very sensitive, so sliding up and down easily to reach the features and working modes or arrows can be used. One of the best features is adding the rule which manages to schedule temperatures, working moods, and features based on time and location when the users are outside.
